Job Summary

The Senior Analytic Developer position involves programming, data mining and analysis of healthcare data with an emphasis on report and application development.

An inquisitive and detail-oriented mind and a passion for using data and analytics to drive results is critical to success in this position.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to design, develop and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data; ability to gather and analyze data and develop reports; work independently and as part of cross-functional teams; and develop data analytics in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and implement reporting and analysis supporting health plan
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Execute the various outcome and predictive analytic studies that support MHN’s model of care
  • Complete a variety of clinical and financial client ad hoc analyses in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Work with IT teams to operationalize analytic and reporting innovations
  • Work with team members to operationalize report and applications
  • Develop actionable dashboards and reports to support care management and ACO operations

Competencies

  • Knowledge of medical claims, pharmacy, and eligibility data from a reporting perspective is essential
  • Experience developing medical performance metrics and clinical quality measures (Physician Scorecards, HEDIS, PQRS, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS, especially Macros. Understanding such things as the autoexec, SASAUTOS, and other SAS concepts as well as proficiency working with multiple layers of nested macros is essential
  • Expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and presentation
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects. Must have strong organization and time management skills
  • Expertise in building and maintaining automated processes
  • Experience developing visualizations and working with BI tools
  • Leverage advanced technical skills, willing to learn new technical skills to deliver innovative solutions

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a data analytics role in a healthcare setting (payer, provider, consulting).
  • 4+ years of experience with SAS programming, data architecting, and technical design. Must have advanced knowledge of SAS Macros.
  • Excel experience (dashboards, pivot tables, VBA, PowerPivot)
  • Unix/Linux shell scripting experience. Linux preferred.
  • Experience with python or another general-purpose programming language
  • Experience with BI tools (PowerPivot, PowerBI, or Tableau).
  • Experience with machine learning.

Required Education Bachelor’s degree in statistics, public health, information systems, computer science, or a comparable program with a quantitative emphasis. Master’s degree preferred.
