Our dynamic, rapidly growing company in a vibrant downtown Chicago setting* is seeking a Strategic Initiatives Analyst.

The Strategic Initiative team's primary objectives are to enable MHN and its affiliates to: 1) achieve MHN’s strategic intent and transform the organization towards its long term vision, 2) manage the annual strategic planning process, and 3) develop and execute all aspects of strategic initiatives by moving ideas from concept, planning, implementation to eventual business operations.

The Strategic Initiatives Analyst will support the development and execution of MHN’s strategic planning process and contribute to complex, high-value strategic initiatives spanning all functions of the organization. The role provides visibility across the organization, both vertically and horizontally, and is an excellent growth opportunity. This is a very fluid, dynamic role, and priorities may change often, as organizational strategies and short-term priorities change.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, focusing on defining goals, business requirements, developing business proposals and plans, identifying and tracking project risks and mitigations, defining costs/budgets and return on investment analysis, identifying and escalating issues
  • Support research, analysis and evaluation of rising opportunities, defined strategic initiatives or special projects that advance MHN’s strategic goals
  • Support management of the key deliverables for strategic planning process, including planning and scoping for rising opportunities
  • Monitors and manages key deliverables of the strategic plan
  • Perform necessary strategic analysis to define and frame complex issues
  • Recommend or develop proposed solutions to support appropriate executive-level decision making
  • Synthesize analyses to identify key findings that can be used in executive teams, board of director meetings and with external audiences
  • Develop slides, talking points, and key presentations for senior management and board meetings
  • Prepare agenda, materials and assist with documentation for key meetings
  • Work on other duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Competencies Required:

  • Demonstrated excellent internal and external customer service skills by being tactful, helpful, and diplomatic to participate as a team member and deal effectively with other team members and external stakeholders
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, and other strategic partners
  • Experience implementing project management methodologies from project scope development, planning, execution, monitoring and tracking project to planned timeline and budget
  • Experience assessing feasibility of proposals for strategic initiatives, developing business plans and assessment
  • Technical and analytical skills, including creativity and initiative, to conceptualize, plan and implement programs that support organizational goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all assigned duties, and in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in PowerPoint and Excel analytical / finance documents
  • High-quality problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be fluid and dynamic as priorities change
  • Proactive, self-directed and able to approach complex tasks independently
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under stringent deadlines
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry


Bachelor’s degree required

Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Policy or related field preferred

*While this role would normally be office-based, our entire team is working remotely due to COVID-19. We have not yet determined when we will return to our offices.
