Director of Operations

Job Summary

Reporting to the Office of the President the Director of Operations is a key strategic role at Texture Health and provides the vision needed to successfully expand products and services in an ever-changing and challenging environment, while ensuring the overall architecture is scalable, and quickly adapted to market needs. The Director is also the key driver of growth and profitability.

The Director will provide guidance as the Texture team designs, builds, tests, and transitions new products and services into production for the Texture Care Management Platform and have ultimate responsibility for all the defined phases of the product life cycle. This role includes the direct supervision of developers, DBAs, product owners, and others.

Essential Functions

· Provide overall vision and exercise initiative in developing operational goals, team goals and personal goals.

· Oversight of customer engagement activities to ensure alignment with Texture vision and product roadmaps.

· Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of solutions for addressing automation and integration needs of the operational and business units of Texture.

· Keep abreast of best practices for software development, and lead team in the application of those practices

· Oversight of Software Development projects and programs, ensuring each project is appropriately staffed and managed to meet project timelines and deliverables.

· Provide positive leadership while mentoring team and assisting them with meeting goals and commitments as well as career development.

· Actively educate and share knowledge with team to empower problem solving development and techniques.

· Determine current and future staffing needs and participate in the hiring of new staff.

· Provide input into the Texture Product Roadmap.

· Effectively communicate and/or make presentations to senior level management within Texture and other key external stakeholders and/or participants.

· Provide program level reporting internally and externally related to Texture application development initiatives.

Competencies

· Proven leadership skills typically demonstrated by consistent advancement and a minimum of 5 years managing and developing staff.

· Experience in vendor negotiation, contracting, and management

· Proven object-oriented Software Development

· At least 7 years of healthcare experience working in dynamic environments with various systems and technology

· Knowledge and experience with HL-7 and Claims or other messaging systems

· Experience in design and development of solutions for healthcare IT products, preferably Healthcare IT Applications or Electronic Health Record Systems

· Preferred Technical Skills and Experience

o 3+ years J2EE development experience

o 3+ years SQL database management experience

o 2+ years JSON and XML hands-on experience

o Experience with implementation of OAuth2

o Linux

o HTML, Java, and JavaScript including jQuery

o Implementation experience with REST API

o Windows Presentation Foundation

o iOS/Android app development and 3rd Party Application integration

· Excellent analytical, design and troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent skills in research and analysis.

· Communication skills to include exemplary written and verbal communication. Must be able to clearly communicate technical information and vision to non-technical business partners and customers at all levels.

Required Education

Minimum of ten years’ experience in health information technology or a graduate of an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or health care related program. MBA preferred.
